Rwanda breweries and soft drink manufacturers (Bralirwa) recently hosted four lucky winners of the just-ended 2008 Uefa Champions League Heineken promotions. Yacine Ndola (Kabana Club employee), Aimable Nsabomukiza (entrepreneur) and Alphonse Rucamihigo (Bralirwa’s sales manager) enjoyed the football action in the middle of the Pilanesberg national park, Sun City, Johannesburg together with hundreds of others from all-over Africa. While Augustine Mukezangabo was part of the 85,000 crowd that gathered in the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, Russia to watch the all-English final between eventual winners Manchester United and Chelsea. During the ceremony which was held at Chez Robert, the quartet shared their experience with Bralirwa officials who included among others the company’s commercial director Alex Koch, trade marketing manager Celestin Mbahizimana and Heineken brand manager Julius Kayoboke. Mukezangabo, who works at La Palisse said that the Moscow journey and the whole experience was an eye opener. It was a very fascinating trip with lots of fun and hurdles like language barriers but all in all, it was a good experience, he pleasantly said. This move by Heineken international was aimed at helping the UCL official sponsors reach out to its clientele world wide. The UCL is the greatest prize in European club football where the highest ranked teams from many countries compete.
