Dear editor, For years now Somalia has been a state ravaged by a war which seems to never have an ending. All peace treaties and endeavors by various peace bodies around the world are fruitless and have all come to naught. The sight that welcomes anyone who is brave enough to go to this country is a series of buildings that are decorated with bullet holes. Bomb and bullet shells are scattered every where. Even with the people starving and living in conditions of absolute poverty, the government is still irresponsible and has failed to establish peace. The people are the ones who suffer in the midst of the fighting only just because the ‘Top Dogs’ have failed to agree on their leadership roles. International peace keeping bodies should be diligent when it comes to enforcing peace. They should not only run to rescue of countries that have resources and raw materials they are interested in, but should consider those that are in most need as is the case with Somalia. KIGALI
