Gisagara RPF members donate to the vulnerable

GISAGARA–Members of the ruling party, the Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF), in Gisagara District on Thursday donated 20 cows and 13 goats to vulnerable residents in Kansi Sector.The exercise is part of activities to mark the party’s 25th anniversary, according to officials.Speaking at the function, Jean Paul Hanganimana, an RPF official in the district, encouraged residents to support the most vulnerable members of the community in order to help them improve their wellbeing.He noted that mutual support will rid the society of poverty and uplift its members from poor living conditions.“Supporting the needy is a responsibility of every Rwandan,” Hanganimana said.”Such mutual support helps to nurture relationship and strengthens ties between members of the society,” he said.He urged RPF members to make efforts to consolidate and sustain the achievements made since it was created.Leonidas Mbabariye, one of the beneficiaries, observed that the donation will help boost his income and thus improve his welfare.He thanked the party members for their support, which he said, will help him get out of poverty.The RPF, which has been in power for the last 18 years, was established in 1987.In the build up to its silver jubilee celebrations scheduled for December 15, a series of activities will be held across the country. They include sport and cultural competitions as well as activities to support the most vulnerable like donating cows, household items and paying health insurance cover among others.
