President Paul Kagame is scheduled to meet with about 2,500 students from Rwanda and from within the region for an interactive discussion dubbed “Meet the President.”The event, to be held today at Petit Stade in Remera under the theme “A Legacy of Self Reliance” will give students an opportunity to discuss with the Head of State a wide range of issues affecting them. It will be aired live on Radio Rwanda and Television.“The primary aim is to establish a platform through which the President and young people meet to share and exchange ideas on formative issues while at the same time inspiring and empowering the youth to continue taking responsibility for shaping their own future and that of their nation and continent,” reads part of a statement from the President’s Office.At the forum, there will be a panel discussion on issues pertaining to the responsibility of the youth in defining their role in building a self reliant Rwanda and Africa.Discussions will be moderated by a student leader and will include one student speaker. It will then be followed by a question and answer session with the audience.The Head of State has on previous occasions met students in several universities in the country for a similar interactive discussion.
