ETINCELLES assistant coach Mohamed Ntibatega has resigned from his duties, citing personal reasons, the club chairman has confirmed to Times Sport.Christian Dukuze confirmed Ntibatega’s departure, which he says came as a surprise given that the youthful coach only joined the Rubavu-based team last season from second division outfit Stella Maris.“It’s true he (Ntibatega) I heard about news of his resignation on Sunday through another staff and players, but until now, I can’t tell you exactly why he quit his job. The club will accept and respect his decision and wish him the best wherever he’s going,” Dukuze said.Despite numerous trials, efforts to get a comment from Ntibatega proved futile as he was not answering his mobile phone by press time.Only two seasons ago, Etincelles were representing Rwanda in the Orange CAF Confederation Cup after finishing second in the league albeit profiting from the decision by Atraco, who had finished second, to withdrawal from the league.Fast forward, the team is languishing second from bottom with a solitary point after four rounds of matches. And asked why the team is not performing well in league, Dukuze admitted, “Yeah! We are not doing as well as we are capable this season but the team will soon start winning, I am confident about that. We have the players and the coach to turn things around.”“We have lost three matches and drawn one but we need to bounce back and move up the table” added the club chairman.Etincelles drew at home with newcomers Muhanga but not before losing three on the trot against Musanze (1-0), Espoir (1-2) and Amagaju (2-0).
