What do girls really mean when they say they need time?

I have been in a relationship for two and a half years (I believe it is true love because she loves me deeply – at least she’s said so a time or two). The problem is, she recently said she needs space or time or whatever. However, the time to party with male friends and chill with everyone except me has not altered one bit! She still texts me every day and declares her undying love for me even in her confused state. What is she so confused about? Usually when a woman isn’t feeling a relationship anymore, she chooses to play silly mind games instead of being upfront and letting a brother know that the passion is shrinking. She will go out of her way to make the issue seem ‘less serious’ than it actually is. Later, you bump into her with another fellow, claiming her undying love for him and all you can do is wonder how your relationship ended because it didn’t – she wanted time, you gave it to her and she was off! In relationships, it is less painful to let go of something instead of beating about the bush in fear of hurting your partner. He will still get hurt either way because you eventually plan to ‘move on quietly’ so do it and get it over with!
