Rwandans living in South Africa have been called upon to contribute towards Agaciro Development Fund (AgDF) to drive Rwanda’s growth forward.Vincent Karega, Rwanda’s High Commissioner to South Africa made the call on Saturday while meeting the Rwandan community in Cape Town-South Africa.AgDF is a solidarity fund initiated by the Rwandans to improve the financial autonomy and accelerate the countries development goals.The meeting brought together about 190 Rwandans mainly professionals, member of the business community, students and Rwandan refugees among others.At the meeting, Karega highlighted the progress made in all sectors in the country and encouraged Rwandan Diaspora to unite and reconcile as all Rwandans, according to a statement from Rwanda High Commission in South Africa.He explained to the audience the concept of AgDF and encouraged them to play a positive role towards the noble cause.During the interactive session, the Rwandan community supported the initiative of Agaciro fund and pledged to contribute towards it.Matters ranging from facilitating some of the refugees to acquire Rwandan passports, telling the truth to those uninformed and misinformed about Rwanda governance formed part of the discussion.“Dialogue and effort to bond the Rwandan community in Southern Africa continue to take place and bare fruits such as solidarity and mutual support,” reads part of statement.“Rwandan communities are participating in various cultural competitions and there is an increasing demand by refugees to be facilitated to visit or return to Rwanda.”
