Rwanda will take part in the 2023 Special Olympics World Summer Games that will take place in Berlin, Germany from June 17-25. The week-long event will see Rwanda competing in various disciplines as they hope to win laurels for the nation. Rwanda will present a delegation of 15 athletes where seven of them will be in the women's football seven-a-side team. Also, two athletes will feature in the game of Bocce which involves showcasing precision, strategic thinking, and exceptional hand-eye coordination. Deus Sangwa, the Chairman of Special Olympics Rwanda, highlighted that the global event will give his team a correct avenue to showcase their talent to the world of special olympics. The Special Olympics World Summer Games provides a remarkable platform for our athletes with disabilities to demonstrate their exceptional talents and inspire others with their determination and sportsmanship, Sangwa stated We are immensely proud of our delegation and believe they will make our nation proud as they compete against the best athletes from around the world.
