Some professional players have arrived in the country and immediately joined the national team that started a residential training camp on Thursday morning, June 8, to prepare for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mozambique on June 18. Local-based players and three foreign players convened on Thursday and will begin intensive training Thursday afternoon at Kigali Pelé Stadium under close guidance of head coach Carlos Alos Ferrer. Former Denze midfielder Djihad Bizimana, Al Wahda striker Patrick Mutsinzi and Rukinzo FC midfielder Danny Ndikumana are among professional players who joined local players in the camp at Hotel Portofino according to team manager Emery Kamanzi. Other professional players will start to join camp from June 9. Ferrer is looking to overcome Mozambique and bag three points which he hopes can restore the country’s hopes of qualifying for the AFCON finals in Cote d’Ivoire in January 2022.
