Rwanda’s High Commissioner to Tanzania Ben Rugangazi has presented his credentials to the President of Seychelles James Michel.Rugangazi is Rwanda’s High Commissioner to Seychelles with residence in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.In their meeting, the two officials discussed matters of mutual interest to both countries particularly on possible areas of bilateral cooperation.“It was agreed that our cooperation would best be served by first cooperating in tourism sector because both Rwanda and Seychelles hold tourism industry as the backbone of their economies especially as both target high end market segment of tourism,” Rugangazi said in an email to The New Times.Rugangazi also called on the Speaker of the Seychelles Parliament Dr Patrick Herminie and the two discussed how both parliaments can work closely together.Later, the Rwandan envoy met with the Seychelles Minister for Tourism Alain Ste Ange with whom they discussed how tourism partnership between Rwanda and Seychelles can be implemented.“The Minister indicated that Seychelles would be happy to discuss modalities of having RwandAir fly to Seychelles within the broader context of promoting tourism partnership,” Rugangazi said.Rwanda enjoys friendly relations with Seychelles, an Indian Ocean Island.
