Burundian international Laudit Mavugo has finally joined AS Kigali from Police FC for an undisclosed fee, Times Sport reports.Rayon Sports were the first to show interest in signing the 22-year old forward but the deal failed through because the two clubs could not reach an agreement for a swap arrangement involving Rwanda international Jerome Sina moving the other direction.Police club chairman Alphonse Katarebe confirmed the development yesterday. He said, “Everything has been sorted out with Mavugo, he is now an AS Kigali player.” The Blues were interested in taking Burundian striker Mavugo from Police, while the latter wanted to sign Sina in a direct swap. But the two teams failed to agree.AS Kigali coach Andrew Gasambungo said, “Mavugo is a skilled and strong striker, who will improve our team. I’m really happy to have him here and I hope he will be successful with us.”Meanwhile, Abdul Karim Gashugi has joined La Jeunesse from Police, according to Katarebe.“We let him go because he needs to play regularly and as a young player, we need him to develop and we wish him all the best in La Jeunesse. May be he will come back in the future,” he said.
