A total of 15 teams will compete for the top prize in this year’s Cycling Tour of Rwanda which is scheduled for November 18, according to Rwanda Cycling Federation media officer Egide Mugisha.Rwanda will be represented by Akagera and Kalisimbi teams with both sides fielding 12 riders. There will also be African teams including Kenya, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Morocco, Algeria, Cameroun and Gabon.Teams from Europe will include: Team Quebecor Garneau (Canada), Team Reine Blanche Rhone Alpes (France), Equipe Regionale de la Reunion (France), Team AVIA Flanders (Belgique).The professional teams are: SANOFI Team Type 1 (USA), Team MTN Quebeka (South Africa). The week-long event will cover a total distance of 876 kilometres, divided in eight stages. Rwanda’s top rider Adrien Niyonshuti rides for Team MTN Quebec; however, it remains to be seen whether he will compete for the visitors or a local team.Meanwhile, this year’s Tour of Kigali has been set for October 14.
