Yesterday AS Muhanga 0-2 APR DEFENDING champions APR FC grabbed a vital three points as they beat Muhanga FC 2-0 on the second day of the national football league yesterday.The match appeared destined for a draw, but the military side proved they had other plans with substitute Farouk Ruhindam, who replaced Bernabe Mubumbyi, scoring a 78th minute goal.With ten minutes to go, APR continued pushing Muhanga back, culminating in an own goal by Eugène Barakagira, who tried to clear a sharp cross from Isaiah Isonga only to shoot the slippery ball into his own net.The military side could have scored more goals had it not been for AS Muhanga goalie Jean Paul Mutabazi who denied the champions two clear chances from Jean Claude Iranzi and Mubumbyi in the first half.After the win, APR FC lead the standings with six points in two matches.Action continues today with AS Kigali hosting Rayon Sport at Stade de Kigali; Etincelles travel north to Musanze FC; Espoir FC host Isonga FC in Rusizi; SC Kiyovu travel to Nyamagabe for crucial date against Amagaju, while Marines host La Jeunesse at Umuganda stadium in Rubavu.
