BREMEN – Former Germany midfielder Tim Borowski is retiring from football due to ongoing injury problems with his right ankle.Werder Bremen says the 32-year-old Borowski is being forced to end his playing career after failing to recover from surgery following the October 2010 injury.Borowski says “I had a wonderful time as a footballer with many great, emotional moments. I’ll always keep that with me.’’Borowski made the majority of his 236 Bundesliga appearances for Bremen, though he also spent a season at Bayern Munich. He made 33 appearances for Germany.
