Schools should emulate St Andrew College

Secondary schools in Rwanda should learn from St Andre Nyamirambo in areas of cleanliness and discipline particularly as regards punctuality, and orderliness which are the major elements that create conducive academic atmosphere for an ideal classroom to exist.At this school one can hardly realize that there are classes in progress, and what surprises most is the way coordination between academic staff and the administration; every step taken to communicate to headmaster is done in an absolutely organized way. There is hardly any interruption within any administrative circle.You can hardly find a student moving aimlessly outside class rooms, and the way they behave while dinning leaves one envying going back to school way beyond the age.The school has both day and boarding sections but when lunch comes you cannot differentiate who lives within or without.Day scholars do not have to trek between home and school several times like other schools subject their students to going back for lunch thus spending much time between school and home.School administration has facilitated the establishment of a school newsletter known as Ubutwali, which comes out after every three weeks. This is a great idea towards promoting a reading and writing culture among Rwanda young generation.Through this newsletter students are kept updated about what happens at their school, locality and provides general Knowledge about their society. They have a lesson to offer to other schools if they see it the way I do. Nyamirambo
