THE chairperson of Rwanda Civil Society platform, Edouard Munyamaliza said Wednesday there was need for them and other developing partners to come up with a clear mechanism of harmonising their targets. He was speaking at a Civil Society Organisations workshop on aid effectiveness.“As a country, we are on track in effective use of aid; therefore, based on our programmes and target, we must be able to account for the funds we get from donors and also engage the government and development partners in our activities,” said Munyamaliza. He noted that there is no way any organisation could fail to account for funds if they were properly put to use.During the meeting it was noted that lack of commitment and active engagement of CSOs in coming up with systematic forms of accountability was a challenge that needed to be addressed. The workshop that was organized in partnership with Actionaid-Rwanda, will be followed by a one-day public policy dialogue to engage the government and other development partners. At the same event, the RCSP will launch the aid effectiveness report. The report will also contain findings or resolutions of the two day`s meeting concerning activities and funds allocation. The Head of Programme and Policy at Actionaid-Rwanda, Innocent Mutabaruka, said that this will give CSO`s a chance to report about their roles in development.
