Recognizing the need for innovative approaches to engage and educate young individuals, Kurama Generation offers tailored programs and services to cater to the diverse needs of different age groups and demographics. One of the organization's key initiatives is the use of Kur Games, word-puzzle games printed on playing cards, which engage individuals interactively and enjoyably. Participants play these games to find words that deliver mental health messages when combined. At the end of each game, players have the opportunity to read and discuss mental health-related messages printed on answer cards, fostering open dialogue and learning. These booklets captivate young readers with engaging content, including mind-challenging pictures and relatable stories. Written by four young medical doctors and a pharmacist who understand the needs of young people, the K-Booklets provide valuable information and guidance on mental health in a format that resonates with the target audience. Currently, Kurama Generation's efforts primarily focus on young people aged 13 to 21. Setonde explained, The detrimental effects of poor mental health on young individuals necessitate our focus on this age group. However, we have plans to expand our work and reach individuals of different age ranges, ensuring that our services are accessible to all. To raise awareness about mental health and combat the stigma surrounding mental health issues, Kurama Generation actively engages with schools and communities. Through the interactive nature of Kur Games and the informative content of K-Booklets, young people learn about mental health in a fun and accessible manner. Kurama Generation has successfully collaborated with several secondary schools in Kigali, where students have gained valuable insights from participating in Kur Games and reading K-Booklets.
