Men need a boy’s day out, no matter how happy they are

I got married to the most wonderful man and my best friend a couple months ago and it’s been going really well since. Obviously we have issues here and there but nothing that cannot be solved with a bit of conversation. However, we’ve hit a new bump in the road. We bought a lovely home and have equipped with everything you need including DSTV. I figured my husband would now be comfortable to watch all the sports he wants in the comfort of his own home but that aren’t the case. He still goes out with his friends and comes back home while I’m already in bed. I honestly don’t understand why he needs to watch EVERY game outside of the house. It’s just nice having him at the house and I don’t mind joining in to watch with him. Anyway, I want find a way to approach him about the issue without seeming too needy.Susan -------------------------------------- Dear Susan,Ahh, the ‘horrible’ football season is back. I’m sure that when he goes out to watch the game with his mates, he doesn’t think that he is making you feel betrayed. Watching football, or any sport to be honest, is not about merely watching the events on the field. Rather, it’s a time to bond with people sharing the same passion. In other words, it’s a social event. Instead of getting annoyed by the fact that he goes to watch the game with his friends, perhaps you can talk about the fact that he comes home late.
