Friendly matchesFridayPolice FC vs YangaSundayRayon Sports vs Yanga THE 2012 Kagame Cup winners Young Africans are in the country for a week-long training camp in preparation for the Vodacom Premier League which kicks off on September 1.A top club official Abdallah Bin Khled told Times Sport before the team left Dar es Salaam yesterday that they will play two warm-up matches against Rayon Sports and Police.“We want to test our team’s strength playing against Police FC on Friday before winding up the tour with a game against Rayon Sports on Sunday,” said Khled.The club’s secretary general Celestine Mwesigwa told Tanzanian media prior to departure that no player will be left out of this important tour because head coach Tom Saintfiet wants to test his players ahead of the start of the new season.“Police and Rayon Sports are two of the biggest teams in Rwanda, which is why we believe playing them will give us a clear picture of the team’s strength ahead of the Vodacom Premier League,” said Mwesigwa. According to initial arrangements, the Tanzanian side was scheduled to play against Primus league champions APR, but the match was cancelled. The former Mainland champions will head back home on Monday.Yanga beat APR in their last two meetings (2-0 and 1-0) en-route to winning the Cecafa/Kagame Cup title for the second year running weeks ago.Amavubi defender Mbuyu Twite, who was recently signed by Yanga from APR, joined his new teammates on Monday night before their flight to Kigali on Tuesday.Yanga’s travelling squad:Goalkeepers: Yaw Berko, Ali Mustapha and Said Mohamed.
