RWANDA’s midfielder Charles Mwesigye Tibingana has completed his switch from Proline FC to newly promoted Uganda Super League side Sports Club Victoria University in a two-year deal.Tibingana, who was part of Rwanda’s U-20 team that lost 3-0 to Mali in the return leg of the Africa Youth Championship qualifier last weekend, passed a medical at Victoria University Health Centre on Thursday, and is expected to start training with his new team mates on Monday.“I feel good about my new life now with SCVU. The level of professionalism at this club is great and I am looking forward to playing my first game,” the 18-year old was quoted in the Ugandan press.“The club has signed experienced players and I know we shall perform. Everyone is willing to work. The club will do well in the league”.It has been an upward curve for Tibingana, who has represented Rwanda at the U-17 FIFA World Cup, U-20 Championships and also Cecafa last year with the senior Amavubi team.SCVU head coach Sam Ssimbwa was keen to bolster his options as he prepares his side for the rigours of playing in the Super League for the first time and he sees Tibingana as an exciting talent for the future. The right midfielder, who scored five goals for Proline last season including a hat-trick against UTODA, is among youth players wanted by twelve-time Rwandan champions APR for the upcoming season. There are reports that APR who are yet to put out the list of the transfer targets, plan to buy out Tibingana’s contract at Sports Club Victoria University.Ssimbwa has also signed former Uganda Cranes defender Nestroy Kizito, Manco Kawesa (URA), George Abege and Martin Mpuga (both from Maroons), Saddam Juma (free agent) and Ali Kimera (Victors).
