Rwf 400 million will be used to equip the newly constructed vocational training centre in Kibeho Sector, Nyaruguru District, Southern Province.The school that was constructed by World Vision-Rwanda, was handed over to the government and the Workforce Development Authority (WDA) will be in charge of its day-to-day operations.“We already allocated part of the money for buying the equipment and we want to ensure that they are supplied not later than September,” said Jerome Gasana, the Director General of WDA.He said WDA will not only buy equipment to help students in practical work, but will also provide all other tools and requirements for the school. Courses to be offered include carpentry, electrical, plumbing, leather technology, ICT and entrepreneurship skills.“We want to make sure that the equipments are supplied before the end of this year, and this will automatically enable us have the school open in the next academic year,” he said.Commenting on the staff, Gasana said that for the beginning, at least more than 20 members will be recruited.He explained that based on the need for the school to accommodate more student`s, there was a possibility of the government expanding the school with time.The new school brings the number of vocational training centres in Nyaruguru to three.According to Gasana, the new school is the biggest, with a capacity to handle a larger number of students compared to others which he said each accommodates only 20 students.George Gitau, World Vision Rwanda Country Director called on the youth and the community at large to use the school in acquiring skills that will make them competitive in the job market.
