Junior Wasps midfielder Alfred Mugabo will feature in Arsenal’s Barclays Under-21 Premier League and NextGen Series this season. The Gunners will kick off the new season with two fixtures at Emirates Stadium, facing Bolton Wanderers on August 20 before hosting Blackburn in north London five days later.Mugabo, born in Kanombe in 1995, is an adaptable midfielder, who has already appeared for Rwanda at last year’s Fifa U-17 World Cup in Mexico at the age of 15.The strong youngster is capable of playing in either full back position, at centre back or in central midfield and will be keen to put that versatility to good use in his first year in the Arsenal academy. The revised system, which replaces the Reserve League South/North, will see teams involved allowed to use three outfield players over the age of 21 and one over-age goalkeeper.
