Canada-based Rwandan gospel artiste Martine Ituze, popularly known as Mimi Martine, is in Kigali to collaborate on different music projects with different Rwandan gospel artistes, including Aline Gahongayire. Mimi, who has so far produced three singles including 'Bonne année', 'Milele' and 'Calvary', looks forward to expanding her music career during her stay in Kigali, by producing more projects with Rwandan gospel artistes. Speaking to The New Times, Mimi said that the first song she is going to record in Rwanda was composed by Niyo Bosco, produced by Santana Pro, and features one of the best female gospel artistes in the country, Aline Gahongayire. The decision to collabo with Aline Gahongayire, Mimi said, is because she grew up listening to her songs that were a bit unique compared to those produced by other Rwandan artistes. “I grew up listening to Gahongayire a lot and I find the message in her songs very unique. She has also been singing for a long time and performed in different concerts around the world, which is another reason that attracted me to work with her,” Mimi added. Mimi further said that the upcoming song was produced with a intention of touching people’s lives and bring them closer to the Holy Spirit, as well as to ensure her breakthrough in Rwanda’s music industry. I feel that this song will go further than expected and make a positive impact in people’s lives,” she said, adding that she will even produce more songs with other renowned Rwandan artistes. Mimi launched her music career a few years ago in Quebec, Canada, where she currently resides.
