Indonesian minister attends Palestine meet

Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa left for Palestine Saturday night to attend the Extraordinary Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Committee on Palestine in Ramallah on Sunday. Palestine President Mahmoud Abbas will participate in the meeting which will discuss the follow-up measures and resolutions taken according to the result of the NAM meeting held in May 2011 in Sharm el Sheikh of Egypt, according to PLE Priatna, Indonesian foreign ministry’s information and media director. Priatna added that Indonesia would reaffirm the importance of the state recognition for Palestine and call for the need by NAM to take concrete steps to ensure peace and rights of the Palestinians. According to the agenda, a Special Solidarity Declaration for Palestine is expected to issue at the end of the meeting. During the visit in Ramallah, Marty is also scheduled to a site survey of the Palestinian residential area and a devotional visit to late Palestine President Yasser Arafat’s mausoleum. Xinhua
