Experiencing Korean culture in Kigali

There is no one who does not like to experience the new things for once in their lifetime. Experiencing a totally different culture is particularly one of the most fun things to do. Do you not get excited by just imagining it? I think that some of you might know this fact since there are many people who visit the Korean Culture Centre on a weekly basis. An average of 15 to 20 people visit the Centre every Friday for a movie exhibition. Among them is one visitor who has become an ‘Honorary Member’ of the Centre. His name is Jean Pierre Rutebuka, a student of IPRC Kigali. He has been to the Centre for more than 10 weeks successively as he became the first ‘Honarary Member’. He visited the Centre for the first time after a volunteer with KOICA(Korea International Cooperation Agency) who currently works in IPRC Kigali, invited over students at IPRC Kigali to the Centre. When he arrived, he watched a Korean movie and listened to K-pop. At that very moment, Rutebuka says that he felt attracted to the Korean culture. He says that the more he visits the Centre, the more he wants to learn about the culture. He says he has even been inspired to study in Korea. “Before I came to the Korean Culture Centre, I had little information about Korea but nowadays, I feel like the Centre is my home,” Rutebuka says. Other than Rutebuka, many other people seek to experience the Korean culture. If that opportunity is waiting right in front of you, why not grab it?
