THINK like a man is a romantic comedy that features Kevin Hart, a funny guy, but he tries a bit too hard in Think Like a Man. The movie, based on Steve Harvey’s best-selling book, Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man, has a cast loaded full of stars such as Kevin Hart, Michael Ealy, Taraji P. Henson, Gabrielle Union and Jerry Ferrara caught up in battles of love spurred by the women’s discovery of the book. When Mya, Candace, Lauren and Kristen get their hands on Harvey’s book and start reading it, they immediately find out the tricks that they need to get the trifling men in their lives to step up to the plate and start doing what they need to do. The men are caught off guard, as their childish ways are questioned and confronted, and have to find some way to fight back. On the way to a party, they find out that that all their women, have been coming at them with the same questions and harassments. They then work together to find out the secret to it all: the book. They each buy a copy of the book and get to work. In the end, they retaliate, but get caught, and the women are heartbroken, as the men who “did everything right” were really just “following the book.”The men each realize what they have to do and step up to the plate and do it, and in the end get their women back in their lives, providing a happy ending for all. The movie has a lot of random scenes, such as the basketball cameos by NBA stars Ron Artest and Darren Collinson, which had absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the movie. Kevin Hart had a few scenes that were completely unnecessary that served as him trying too hard to be funny, and, early on, the movie was all over the place. The movie itself was a predictable story line, and as a romantic comedy but would still have your Friday night lit up.
