A beauty queen who plunged 150 feet to her death from her wealthy ex-lover’s luxury apartment could not have committed suicide, her mother insisted yesterday.Sahar Daftary, 22, had only gone to property developer Rashid Jamil’s flat to pick up her passport and clothes after an acrimonious break-up, she told an inquest into her daughter’s death.Months earlier, the former winner of the Face of Asia contest had accused the 37-year-old of raping her and treating her like a slave.She had gone ahead with an Islamic wedding even after discovering he already had a secret wife and two children, but the relationship quickly foundered.After she fell from Mr Jamil’s 12th floor apartment, police arrested him on suspicion of her murder, but he was later released without charge.
