Editor,Allow me to respond to a story titled “Donatila Kanimba refused to let blindness hinder her” appeared in The NewTimes of July, 19.Donatila Kanimba is a determined human being. I wish to tell her that she should not stop pursuing your dream to be a doctor. Blind people have very astute senses that “see” people far beyond the outer shells. Therefore, your natural skills would be quite valuable as a psychologist/psychiatrist doctor especially in post-genocide Rwanda where there are lot of walking-wounded in need of inner-healing and reconciliation. This kind of “doctoring” requires focused persistence and much patience -- which you have in plenty.Margaret S.
