Saturday Vision FC 1-1 Gicumbi FC Amagaju FC 1–0 Etoile de l’Est Etoile de l’Est were Saturday crowned second division champions and were, alongside Amagaju FC, promoted to the Rwanda Premier League. The Ngoma-based side finished at the top of the second division promotion playoffs table despite losing 1-0 to Amagaju FC at Nyagisenyi Stadium on Saturday. Striker Fabrice Irambona opened the scoring for Vision in the 55th before Berthe Dusenge equalized in the 73rd minute. The Gicumbi-based team tried to get a winner but Vision’s defense was too tough to penetrate pushing for the winning goal. Despite the defeat, Etoile de l’Est were crowned the second division league champions by goal deference while Amagaju emerged first runners-up. The pair will play top flight football next season.
