Students of Gashora Girls Academy of Science and Technology share their thoughts on the value of Blood Donation

“Seeing as accidents are unpredictable, donating blood means securing a chance for someone to live.” Yvonne Musiime S.5 “Without blood, there is no life, meaning that donating blood is giving someone else a chance to live. I believe that donating blood is a gift. Today someone needs blood, but tomorrow it could be you.” Lillian Ingabire S.4 “I think blood donation is one of the things in life that should be done without question. Giving a little blood will not kill you and you have the chance to save a life.” Marie Celeste Dushime S.5“I believe in second chances. If donating blood will save a life, then so be it. However, people must take into consideration the safest ways to do it.” Hope Uwase S.5 “I think blood donation is really important as we all know it saves lives. If you have the chance to save someone, do it.” Peace Munyana S.4 “Donating blood might just be the most dignified thing a person can do. But it’s also wise to ensure that the measures and methods of donating blood are safe to avoid any infections.” Caroline Umukobwa S.5 “Blood donation is a good strategy, but the beneficiary, donor and doctors should be cautious of any virus/es that can be transmitted.
