KWITA Izina cycling tour winner Abraham Ruhumuriza will have no time to celebrate his incredible fete as he now turns focus to the Ascension de mille collines tour slated for Saturday.Talking to Times Sport yesterday, the Southern Province based rider said Saturday’s race is very difficult because the competition’s winners will be categorised by club and not as individuals.“Benediction is our biggest challenger because it possesses 4 riders from the national team. They will be our biggest opponents in the race,” the veteran rider who has won the Tour of Rwanda six times, said.Benediction Club has in its ranks riders like Hadi Janvier, Gasore Hategeka, Joseph Biziyaremye and Nathan Byukusenge.Ruhumuriza rides for Cycling for All Club which is one of 7 clubs that will take part in the 130km race. The others include: Fly (Gasabo), Club les Amis Sportif (Rwamagana), Kiramuruzi (Gatsibo), Rapide (Kicukiro), Ciné Elmay (Nyarugenge) and Satelite from Kayonza.Debutants Abahizi from Kicukiro, who are mainly composed of Americans working in Kigali, also hope to make quite an impression in their maiden appearance. The winners of the race will walk away with Rwf400, 000 while the runners-up and third placed team will bag Rwf300, 000 and 200,000, respectively. The fourth placed team will win themselves Rwf100, 000.The race is sponsored by Soras Group Ltd to a tune of Rwf 5m.The Ascension de mille collines is the final race in an action packed month that saw Team Rwanda riders compete in the Tour of Eritrea and Kwita Izina cycling tour.
