Dear editor, I love African outfits. I love the bright colours, the fabric, and the unapologetic joy that our clothes scream. It is impossible to wear a fantastic African outfit and feel depressed or low for very long. One look in a mirror and culture picks you right up. One of the outstanding principles that safe guard a people’s culture is the way they dress. African typical dressing is not only elegant but respectful. It is unfortunate to see that most people put on the so called modern western dresses that only contribute to making them ugly. Why don’t we stick to our culture? Be forewarned, a dying society does not respect its own culture but a foreign one. Nyagatare
