What you wear says a lot about you and since you are out to impress, you are better off opting for a conservative style of dressing. Everything from your accessories and make up right down to your shoes determines your appearance which in turn determines, believe it or not, whether you get the job or not! There’s absolutely no way you are going to be “Head of Finance” when you go for an interview dressed like you’re straight from K-club. Dress the part and your chances of getting the job increase. Here are some tips on how you can do that properly.• Unless you can pull off matching ordinary work-clothes, a suit is suitable for an interview. Pick out one with a conservative color like black, grey or navy blue and a cut that flatters your body shape. Also, you have to choose a matching button-down blouse that complements the color of your suit.• Just like your suit, your shoes too must be relatively inconspicuous and conservative. Do not walk into an interview room teetering on glitzy six-inch heels, save those for other informal occasions. Your shoe-heels should not be more than three inches.• When it comes to make-up, keep it pretty and natural as you do not want the people on the interview panel to focus more on the wild colors on your eyes and lips and lose track of what you are actually saying. Keep your colors neutral and allow your personality shine through.• Many people who have been to interviews will agree that you need to make a lot of eye contact with the guys on the panel. There is no way you can do this if your hair is all over your face and you keep fidgeting with it. Opt for neat and elegant ponytails or buns to keep hair off your pretty face.
