• Traditional wear: A mushanana, gomesi or kangas are definitely not to be worn on any formal occasion and an interview is as formal as they get.• Wild nail polish: Extremely long or uncut nails are a real turnoff, too. Your nails should be groomed and neat and devoid of any shouting colors.• Jewelry that jangles: Dont wear more than two rings per hand or one earring per ear. No face jewelry or ankle bracelets are appropriate for an interview.• Open-toed or backless shoes: these are a definite no-no. Out-of-date shoes should be thrown out or kept for other occasions.• Bare legs: if you are going to put on a short skirt, wear stockings, even in humid weather. Stockings can be in neutral colors or a fashion color to match your shoes.• Short skirts: Hemlines should not be more than three inches above the knee. Dont wear capri pants or leggings to the interview.• Leather jackets: leather jackets are not suitable for interviews because they look more like out-door wear.• Printed or trendy handbags: Purses should be conservative and unnoticeable.• Visible tattoos: Employers don’t really care if you have a tattoo. They do not, however, want to see some big one at the job interview so do your absolute best to hide it.
