APR goalkeeper Pierre Ishimwe could miss Saturday’s Peace Cup semifinal second leg against Kiyovu through injury, Times Sport understands. Ishimwe had to be replaced by youngster Alexandre Mutabaruka in the 73rd minute after he injured his hand trying to clear Kiyovu’s equalizer as the two teams played out a 1-1 draw in the Peace Cup semi final first leg held at Bugesera Stadium on Wednesday. Sources close to the team say that the shot stopper’s injury will most likely keep him out of that return leg at Kigali Pelé Stadium but assured that he will be available to play the final should his team knocks Kiyovu out of the semifinals. Ishimwe has been one of APR’s key players during the current season and his absence between the posts during the second leg could become a major blow for the team which is still in the race for both Rwanda Premier League title and Peace Cup and Ben Moussa will have to trust youngster Mutabaruka to fill his shoes. SC Kiyovu will host APR in the return leg on Saturday, May 13 at Kigali Pelé Stadium. The Peace Cup semifinal between the pair promises to be decisive especially for APR who have not won the cup since 2017.
