Get a piggy-bank

Being a child does not mean that you cannot learn to save. Saving is a good habit that can be learned from childhood. If you want to save, ask your parents to buy you a small piggy-bank where you can throw extra coins.When you throw a coin in your piggy you can’t get it back unless you unlock it. Since you can’t get lots of money at a tender age, you can ask your parents to give you a coin everyday so that you can save it. Theiry Maridadi, a P.3 student at Sparrows Primary School Kabuga, said he learned to save when he was in P.1. “My older brothers taught me how to save in P.1. The first time I used my saved money, I bought myself a ball and didn’t have to ask my parents for it,” he saidThe good thing about keeping a piggy bank is that when you need to buy something important and your parents cannot get it, you can give them your savings and they will buy it for you.Piggy banks also help you to be a wise and responsible child as you grow up. When you learn to save at that age then managing money when you reach boarding school will be very easy. Saving your pocket money will even be much easier because you are already used to handling it.
