Editor,Men cannot help but look at a beautiful woman. Men are not so weak that they cannot help checking out other ladies when they are with their partner. I know many who do… and some who dont. I am not claiming that men do not notice pretty girls if they are happy with their partner. Even girls notice good looking guys when they have great boyfriends. Noticing is one thing, staring is another. Checking out another woman is not some kind of reflex action, like coughing when someone kicks dust in your face. Men have instincts. So do women. So do my puppies. When they see me at the gate, their first instinct is to jump up and greet me with their muddy paws. But they RESIST those instincts and instead, sit and wait for me to pet them. Another example: if I am presented a beautiful slice of chocolate cake, my first instinct is to pick it up with both hands and swallow it whole - but because I do not want to appear unladylike, I will wait for a fork and then eat the cake bite by bite. You see, instincts are no excuse to be rude or ungracious.Likewise, your boyfriend should be a gentleman. If he cares for you, he should make an effort to make you feel respected and appreciated.
