AMAVUBI and Express FC midfield Bonny Bayingana is the top contender to win this season’s Uganda Super League (USL) Player of the Year award.According to Ugandan media, Bayingana is in contention for the title alongside Uganda Cranes and URA striker Robert Sentongo.The duo were nominated for the top accolade on Monday after the USL managers and league sponsors Uganda Breweries launched the awards in Kampala. Maroons striker George Abege (nine goals) and Bunnamwaya’s Kizito Luwagga (six goals and eight assists) are also in contention. But it’s Bayingana and Sentongo who are fncied to lift the title on June 29.Bayingana, in his first season with Express, has been a revelation in the league. His trickery with the ball has endeared him to fans in a short time.
