Editor,Please allow me to respond to an article that appeared in yesterday’s issue of The New Times titled “Agaciro key to prosperity, Kagame tells US students”.Addressing graduating students at William Penn University in Iowa, US, on Saturday, President Paul Kagame was honest when he told them that the country’s prosperity lies in the dignity of the Rwandan people. I can’t agree more. Particularly, I loved the way he passionately talked about the “enduring spirit of Agaciro”, and the way it has helped shape the post-Genocide Rwanda.Let me also take this opportunity to congratulate President Kagame for the Honorary Doctorate he received from the University in recognition of his statesmanship. It is admirable how the President was quick to attribute the honour to the collective efforts of Rwandans to turn the page of their country’s difficult past. The President has specifically done a great job in empowering women and the youth, and this has had a trickle-down effect on our resurgent economy. Long live Mr President and God bless you.Thadens Kal’s NkeraNyarutarama
