Sensitise all Rwandans about loan access

Editor,It is unfortunate to learn that lack of knowledge about access to credit from banks and other microfinance institutions is one of the main factors affecting the quality of lives of many Rwandans. The major challenge to doing business is lack of capital. Most banks I know of offer loans and credit to both small and large businesses and also to people with good ideas.Unfortunately, some people do not know about these services, meaning that they fail to take advantage of available loan opportunities to uplift themselves out of poverty.I think that leaders, especially at the district level, are not doing enough to sensitise their people about these opportunities. People do not know where to find them and when they finally do, they don’t know the full details.I also call on the banks to advertise more about these products and leaders to conduct regular public campaigns about it. They should be in position to educate the citizens about how they can benefit from getting loans for business and how they should faithfully service them. Augustine MunyuziKacyiru
