BEYONCÉ’s 2011 single ‘Run The World (Girls)’ started off as a “joke song”, Diplo has claimed. The producer revealed that they started working on the song for fun and initially didn’t intend for it to be released as the trailer cut from Beyoncé’s latest album 4.“I still think a lot of people don’t even realise where that song came from,” Diplo told BBC Newsbeat. “That song never really had a push. It was a joke song we did. Kind of like a funny joke kind of song.”The DJ added that working with the US star was a surreal experience and explained that working on her new single ‘End of Time’ was unbelievable.“That was super weird, man. Like, I remember we were in the studio working with her and I still couldn’t believe it.”Beyoncé will make her live concert return at Atlantic City’s Revel hotel and casino on May 25-27.
