Rayon clean house ahead of derby

Crisis club Rayon Sports have settled their financial differences with their players ahead of Sunday’s Primus League clash against defending champions APR.The blues club Secretary General Olivier Gakwaya told Times Sport yesterday, “We have settled all differences related to their players’ unpaid salaries which had created some problems.”However, head coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira sounded cautious when contacted yesterday, saying, “I will confirm tomorrow (today) whether we are playing the Sunday game against APR or not.”The six-time league champions lost to old rivals SC Kiyovu 1-0 last weekend, a game that some of their key players missed having gone on strike over unpaid salaries. From the gate collections of that match, the club management decided to pay off the pending salaries.Rivals APR, who have picked up good form recently, will be looking forward to win and go-ahead of current leaders Police.APR have 43 points, one point adrift of Police with four matches to go against Rayon, Mukura, Kiyovu and Nyanza.The military side is looking to a 4th consecutive league title and their 13th in 17 years.Police’s game against Isonga FC which caused a lot of controversy after the latter failed to show up on match-day on Wednesday, will be played at a yet to be confirmed date after an independent commission was set up to look into the matter.
