Editor,Every football fan will agree with me that Bayern Munich are a European powerhouse. They are no stranger to Champions League. I am not surprised they beat Real Madrid to reach the finals. Now that they are facing Chelsea, I know they are favourites to win this year’s Champions League. Many people had concluded Real would edge Bayern, with the first league having ended 2-1 in favour of the Bavarians at the Alianz Arena stadium. So the majority of fans, even the neutrals, had thought that Real Madrid, with the second league at the Bernabeu, would overturn the result and actually dump Bayern Munich out of Europe. They forgot that Bayern play as a real team, without necessarily relying on individuals as do Real or Barcelona. Indeed, they kept their composure, played their game and humiliated Real in front of their own fans and millions others watching around the world.Yet I believe the fact that it is now Bayern against Chelsea in the finals was itself a huge relief to many football fans. Many people seem to be tired of the hype of the Spanish league, and I my view, Madrid and Barcelonam, indeed deserved not to reach the finals.Emmanuel GisaNyagatare
