Dear editor, During my recent visit to southern Rwanda, I was disheartened by the farmers cry for fertilizers ‘locally called Ifumbire’. The frustrated farmers said their land is barren, and worst of all they can’t access any manure to enhance fertility. They cried out their pleas to the government or any other body with capacity, to help and supply them with manure, otherwise they are almost losing the zeal for farming. It rung a bell in my minds that perhaps that’s even the reason for the food scarcity. Gisenyi
