Most leaders you see today were leaders at a tender age and their interest in leadership brought them to where they are today. If you want to be a leader, it’s best you start developing those skills now because they will grow along with you. In school, there are a number of posts that you can take on and be a leader. There are class monitors, prefects, house captains and many more. Develop those simple leadership skills now and become better with time. School elections may not favor you but giving up isn’t an option.However, leadership is not just about ruling people. You must learn to put your friends first before you think about ordering them around. Make sure you learn to share and always help the people around you because those are the characteristics of a true leader.Good leadership comes with other aspects like being eloquent and audible. You have to learn how to speak in front of people without looking like you do not know what you are saying or are afraid of the crowd. If you start by learning how to talk in front of three people, eventually it will be your class, then the school and then who knows – maybe the country some day! Borrow a leaf from some of the great leaders in the world or even the ones you actually know -like in your school. With time, you too will be considered a great leader because you learned from the best. If you make a mistake, don’t be discouraged but instead ask for advice from an elder or teacher or even someone who has been a leader before.
