Editor,I am an ardent fan of Chelsea FC and I am happy that our season has not faded badly as some people had anticipated. We have had some good results, particularly in the Champions League. While we looked doomed to fail against the mighty Barcelona last week, we beat them at Stamford Bridge and prevented them from getting that crucial away goal.Today we will again be playing against Messi and co at the Camp Nou, with many people still saying we will not make it, as if we are predestined to fail. After resting most of our first team players during the Saturday premiership game against Arsenal, I am quite confident that Chelsea will pull off a result that will propel it into the Champions League final against Bayern Munich or Real Madrid.Although our performance in the domestic league hasn’t been that good, I am happy for where we are now. Today’s is obviously a do-or-die game which we must do everything we can to win. After our first leg triumph, Real Madrid have also proved that Barcelona are not invincible after all, with that 2-1 drubbing of the Catalans in the Spanish league last Saturday.I do appreciate the fact that Barcelona are the best football club in the world. That fact notwithstanding, however, Chelsea will tonight remind them that the blues are a great side in their own right.Ivan CyusaNyarugenge
