Saturday 3rd May, 2008 is World press freedom day. The world press freedom day is not only celebrated by adults working with the media and other communication organizations, it is a day that should remind us about children’s freedom. Child should have the right to freedom of expression too. Children should have the right to express their views on radios, television and print media. In the print media (News papers) or magazines, children have a right to individually write short stories. This what The New Times child magazine does! So please do not hesitate to contact us in case you want to express your views. The magazine is among the few children’s magazine in the country that recognizes and voices what children say. So, for those of you who wish to write, come to The New Times offices and ask for the children’s desk. Your ideas will be written and published so that you enjoy the freedom of press in Rwanda.Ends
