Organisers of the famous Blankets & Wine show which usually takes place in Kampala, Uganda and Nairobi, Kenya, have announced plans to bring back the show to Kigali this year. “KIGALI ARE YOU READY? This summer we’re bringing you vibes,” the events management announced via social media platforms. This comes after Rwandan star, Mike Kayihura, thrilled thousands of revelers who attended the previous edition of 'Blankets & Wine' that took place last weekend at the 'Lugogo Cricket Oval'. Bruce Melodie and The Ben have also performed at the event in the past. Blankets & Wine is a quarterly, picnic-style, family friendly music festival which held its first event in Kampala in 2012 and has since grown to holding three to four events a year. Blankets & Wine Music Experience is based on four to five musical acts with different styles of urban. The Blankets and Wine festival was last held in Kigali on August 27, 2017, at Kigali Golf Club. Since the event's inception, the East African region has enjoyed live performances by Oliver Mtukudzi (Zimbabwe), Mafikizolo (South Africa), Mzungu Kichaa (Tanzania), Maurice Kirya (Uganda), Mi Casa (South Africa) as well as celebrated Kenyan acts Sauti Sol, Eric Wainaina, Harry Kimani and Nyota Ndogo, among others. The event's line-up and dates of the next edition will be communicated soon, according to organisers.
