Akagera Aviation was announced the best exhibitor in the just ended International Trade Fair at Gikondo expo grounds in Kigali City. Along side the trophy, the company also won a free air ticket and accommodation for one week to attend any aviation fair of its choice. Emmanuel Hategeka, the Secretary General, Private Sector Federation (PSF) called this year’s exhibition unique, “there was both ground and air exhibition,” -- fun flights by Akagera Aviation. While MTN Rwanda, was fast runner up with its telimbere product. According to the marketing and sales manager, Akagera Avaiation, Eve Tushabe most of their prominent clients were locals. “On the weekends we could get about 70-80 clients per day, and during week days they ranged from 30-40 per day,” she said. PSF awarded exhibitors who outperformed others in various categories. Among the key categories was best exhibitor of the year. Most prizes were won by local exhibitors. Prizes included a trip to Canton Fair in China, one week study tour South Africa, trip to London at Rwanda Europe Convention, trip to Dubai, study tour to India, free publicity on Radio 10 DSTV Kit among others. In his remarks, Commerce Minister Protais Mitali urged exhibitors to observe quality of their products to be competitive in global markets but also earn higher returns. Tushabe also added that during the week days they flew 3-4 hours a day while over the weekends they flew 6-7 hours a day. The first of its kind in history of expo, flying with these choppers was considered time efficiency, fancy and adventure.Other exhibitors that won prices included, Sorwathe, Ocir café, Roto, Sulfo Rwanda, Dash-s, Computer vision, BCR, Intersec, MAGA, Par agencies, Vancina bamboo, Kiaka, Nyirangarama, East African Breweries, Akagera motors, SGES, IRST, Braz Afric, Home Décor Burundi and Mukwano industries.
