Alphonse Munyantwali, the former governor of Southern and Western Provinces has been appointed as the new Police FC chairman. Munyantwali replaces ACP Yahya Mugabo Kamunuga who has been at the helm since August 17, 2022. READ ALSO: Vincent Mashami is back! Munyentwali will be assisted by SP Regis Ruzindana as the vice chairman. Ruzindana was the club’s 2nd vice-president. In a club statement released Friday, April 28, club secretary general and spokesperson, CIP Obed Bikorimana, said, the changes are meant to reinforce the management of Police FC as it continues to be a competitive club. READ ALSO: Peace Cup: Rayon defeat Police FC in five goal thriller The law enforcers have had an impressive season, especially during the second round of Rwanda Premier League and the new management will be tasked to improve the club’s fortunes and turn into a club that wins trophies. Police FC sit fourth on the league table with 45 points in 26 games, 11 points behind leaders Kiyovu Sports, eight points and seven points behind second and third teams APR and Rayon respectively. The RNP-founded club have also still stand a chance of winning the Peace Cup tournament despite losing 3-2 to Rayon Sports in the quarter finals first leg.
